The latest trend of nail art design

Nail art is the latest trend and it is loved by women of all ages. It is a way to express style, personality and creativity. Creating designs for nails does not have to be time-consuming nor does it require an expensive trip to the salon. You can do your own manicures at home easily and quickly with just a few simple tools and your own nail polish. These designs work for short, long or acrylic nails.

DIY tips for nail art

Before you begin, you will need:

  1. Cotton balls

  2. Nail file

  3. Acetone polish remover

  4. Clear protective base and top coat

  5. Nail art designs

  6. Nail polish in various colors

  7. Tooth pick or small paint brush

Make sure your nails are trimmed, filed and buffed well and have a supply of cotton balls ands the acetone polish remover on hand so that any mistakes can be quickly fixed. Arrange all the items properly so that you do not need to look for anything with wet nails later on.

Start off by applying the base coat in whatever color you choose. Then apply two coats of this so that the color is dark enough. Then let your nails dry.

Start your nail art on top of the base coat. You can do stripes, dots or dashes using the nail polish brush. Fine brushes or tooth picks can be used to create any design you like. You can make zebra stripes by painting your nails black and white with the help of the tooth pick or even a bumble bee pattern using yellow and black.

You can dip the end of the fine brush or tooth pick to make polka dots with any colors you like. Using this technique, you can also create flower patterns. Make a circle of polka dots using one color and then place a dot in the center of the circle using a different color.

You can replace the traditional French manicure colors with bold contrasting ones. Instead of using pink and white, you can use pink and green, black and silver or gold, blue and yellow, etc.

Dip the nail art designs or gems into nail glue and carefully set them on your nails using tweezers. You can also add glitter by gently shaking it onto wet nails.

After you have finished your nail art, always remember to apply a coat or two of clear top coating to protect your nails from chips and other wear and allow plenty of time for drying.
